Before & After

By Dr. Nektarios Logaras – Dermatologist/Venereologist

Seborrheic Keratosis is a very common skin lesion. Seborrheic Keratosis is often mistaken for nevi (moles). Despite their appearance, Seborrheic Keratosis are benign (innocent) skin lesions that with proper treatment (Laser) are evaporated and completely cured. The main reason for their appearance is the chronic exposure to sunlight and the increased production of keratinocytes that are located in epidermis, the outermost layer of the skin.

The most frequent locations are the sun-exposed areas of the body, face, chest, head, etc. In the Athens South Dermatology Clinic, the Seborrheic Keratosis is always examined and treated by the specialist Dermatologist Dr. Nektarios Logaras, with the help of a Digital Dermatoscope in order to be differentially diagnosed from moles since they have different diagnostic approach and treatment.

Their treatment with Laser is a simple operation since they are evaporated, painless (always with the use of local anesthesia) bloodless (since they are located superficially on the skin) and without scars; as the doctor with the help of Laser has the complete control over the depth of cell evaporation, destroying them completely without recurrence, leaving the healthy skin intact.
