VITILIGO

By Dr. Nektarios Logaras – Dermatologist/Venereologist

What is Vitiligo?

Vitiligo is an autoimmune, acquired skin disease that affects up to 2% of the general population (children, men and women).

It is a skin condition in which areas of the skin and mucous membranes gradually lose their normal pigment (melanin) and become white.

Vitiligo, depending on the part of the body that is located as well as the extent of the lesions, is classified into localized, generalized and universal. Vitiligo may gradually spreads slowly however it may stabilize for a long time or worsen sharply.

Treatment

Digital Imaging using a state-of-the-art imaging system in order to classify and record the disease.

The treatment is individualized with special topical drug protocols.

The course of vitiligo is monitored, compared, re-evaluated and according to the results the specialized drug protocols are regulated. With the necessary guidance and psychological support, we can reach the optimal desired result.
